Leading the innovative culinary team at The National Bar & Dining Rooms is Executive Chef Rezart Gorencavic, under the seasoned leadership of Chef Geoffrey Zakarian. A native of Albania and a graduate of the Culinary Institute of Tirana in Albania, Gorencavic launched his career in 1994 at the Rogner Hotel. In 2000, he moved to New York where he worked at Trattoria Dopo Teatro before working his way through the kitchen at 21 Club, where he spent the last 15 years. Under the guidance of chef John Greeley, Gorencavic learned to navigate Manhattan’s most celebrated culinary events and competitions including, New York’s Food & Wine Festival and Burger Bash. Gorencavic joined The National in the spring of 2016 and has brought his affinity for seasonal ingredients and belief in enhancing their natural flavors.
